Every year at this time I get a bit antsy to spring clean and redecorate.
In the past, my decorating style has leaned toward the country look...
wheat, berries, earth tones, country crocks, and such.
While I still like this look,
over the last few years my tastes have changed and have gravitated
more toward the airy cottage look.
I adore light blues and greens with whites.
I love shabby chic and dishes that are pretty and delicate.
I have a hankering for milk glass, Ball jars, and pretty table clothes.
I am not sure how the rest of the family will feel about it,
but this spring I am hoping to start transitioning the living area to
less of the weighted and dated country look to more of a pretty, airy cottage look.
I'm hoping I can achieve that without too much fight over putting away the
antique John Deere tractor.
I'm thinking it may clash with the new tablecloth and dishes that I have in mind :)

I've been having a hankering to redecorate a bit, too. Lot of cleaning, organizing, and tossing going on here - then hopefully I'll have a somewhat clean slate. Good luck getting your family to join in!
ReplyDeleteI love decorating, but unfortunately, once it's done and your taste changes, IT COSTS MONEY!! :-) I hate getting rid of perfectly good things just because my tastes have changed, so I make small changes. One good thing though...we just purchased a second getaway home that I get to (slowly) exercise my decorative side!
ReplyDeleteI get the same way every year...but It passes. It overwhelmes me in my thoughts, so I just give up!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your changes...I did this several years ago and am still loving the cottage look. I am really drawn to it, it's so comfortable. Have fun!!
ReplyDeleteMy look? Fur trapper x 2 dogs and 3 cats.
ReplyDeletePray for me! Lol.
